A century ago, Lin Wan-hsing, a tea farmer from Shiding, arrived in Dadaocheng, then a thriving center of trade, and established the tea business that would become his family's livelihood. In those days, traveling into the mountains to source tea was difficult. As a wholesaler, he became a vital link between tea growers and small retailers.
The shop believes a good tea merchant begins with an owner who knows tea inside out: a specialist capable of judging its quality and value. By working directly with growers and assessing each sack of tea individually, the owner maintains what the shop describes as more consistent quality than the contract-growing model commonly used by large tea companies. That dedication has built a lasting reputation and made the shop a favorite among tea lovers.
From first-generation founder Lin Wan-hsing to Lin Chia-cheng, Lin Ta-tsun and Lin Mao-sen, the business is now in the hands of its fifth generation. A century of knowledge and experience goes into caring for its teas. Every canister carries the care, principles and traditions passed down through this longstanding family business.
